More Lena Yada Release Notes
Lena Yada recently spoke out against rumors saying she was released because she looks like Gail Kim, who is waiting to make her debut. She claims she was cut because of budgetary reasons and because she was injured while training. There are a few things that I find interesting about what she had to say.
A short while after her release, I could have sworn that Lena stated she did not know the reason she was released, and only Vince knows the actual reason. It is possible that since then Vince himself, an official, or another wrestler told Lena that she was released for the reasons she is now giving. It can also be that this is the reasoning Lena came to herself. Considering the former, that someone else told her, does she or anyone else think that someone working for the WWE will tell her she was released due to a racist reason? No. I am not saying racism was definitely behind it, and budget issues were definitely involved, but Lena should not take what someone tells her as the whole truth.
Another thing I find stupid is the fact that she was released because she was injured while training. She was still being used in a vital role, as backstage interviewer. Tiffany is a lot more useless than Lena Yada. Teddy Long does not need an assistant, valet, or whatever you want to call it. The show could have definitely used a cute interviewer, and Lena was it. She would have healed from injury anyway. What about Gregory Helms? He was injured for a long time, and not even used in any way for much of that time, but they kept him and he is back now. Droz was injured years ago, but they kept him for a long time. Lena, despite injury, was still very useful on ECW. I am not convinced about the injury excuse, since Lena still had a role. Again, the budget reason makes sense, but there are other workers that could have been cut instead. I am very sorry Lena had to go, but I think there is more to the list of reasons she gave.
