Goodbye Lena Yada
WWE has released Lena Yada. I can’t say I am totally surprised. She was expendable. She was a hot Asian, and I heard that she was in fact training to get in the ring and actually do something, but it seems the WWE is going through Fall Cleaning. Is she only the first of many more divas to be released right now? Also, how much is race involved in this release? It is seeming more and more likely that Gail Kim will show up in the WWE very soon. Did the WWE feel that there was only room for one Asian diva right now? Did they feel the fans might confuse Gail Kim and Lena Yada? That is stupid, but I would not put it past the WWE. Odds are, Gail Kim won’t be sent to ECW, where people may idiotically confuse Lena Yada and her as sisters or something else foolish. Moreover, if they are scared that people might confuse the two, why do they keep hiring the same generic blonde stick-figures, who mostly never stand out that much even when they do gain some wrestling ability. They all seem to be trained in the same way. Some may think I am stupid for even accusing the WWE of this, but Vince did end the “Major Brothers” gimmick when he found out they were not really brothers. My point is, it would have been nice to keep Lena Yada around for some diversity, but it was only a matter of time before one of the divas bit the bullet to open up resources for Gail Kim.
And in other news, Burke and Dykstra are gone too.
